You're Invited (Devotional)

Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters;...Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.
-Isaiah 55:1a, 2b
~~~~~
Surely it's happened to you. You go to the fridge looking for something to munch on, trying to satisfy a craving. You open the fridge and stare.
All the good stuff's gone. Your options are stalebread, moldy cheese, unidentifyable leftovers, and frozen bags of vegetables.
Can you imagine if just at that moment, your best friend called with this invitation: "Hey my mom's practicing for her gourmet cooking class.
She just made an outrageous spread! We're having shrimp coctail, bruschetta, caeser salad, filet mignon, and and amazing chocolate truffle cheesecake for dessert. Get over here and help me eat all this!
Hmm...fridge or friend's house--which would you choose?
What a no-brainer!
Did you realize that your soul has similar options? Deep down we all crave something more than what this life offers. We search for meaning.
We ache to belong. And we try to satisfy those longings on our own--
through relationships, friends, partying, sports, academics, looking good, or having the coolest clothes and stuff.
But those things are like stale bread and moldy cheese--they will never satisfy your cravings.
Meanwhile, God invites you to come to an incredible, all-you-can-eat gourmet banquet for your soul! You don't need to worry about what to wear, what to say, or how to act. You only need to come, just the way you are. You spot at the banquet table is paid for and reserved (courtesy of Jesus). Come and enjoy God's never-ending supply of hope, help, comfort, love, wisdom, strength--the menu goes on and on.
Every good thing imaginable is there for the taking. How will you RSVP to God's invitation?
TWILIGHT
~Twilight....A Review~
"Without supplemental material from the book,
this film seems silly."
******
While looking for a not-humongous Twilight picture, I stumbled upon a review for the movie with that heading.
And you know what?
That's SO true.
Last night, we were supposed to watch 'Bolt' (which I was not very excited about...idk why), but they didn't have it in stock at Blockbuster.
So instead, we rent 'Twilight'.
At first, I was reeeally excited, ya know? Finally I'd be able to see what all the hooplah is about, and I was interested in watching it anyway.
I would have been better off watching 'Bolt'! :-[
Let me list a few reasons why I thought it was....not up to my "expectations":
1. The DIALOGUE! OHMYGOSH! It was so awkward and cheesy in some parts! It made me uncomfortable. If that makes sense lol.
2. That wolf-boy Jacob's hair....WHAT. THE. HECK. If they spent money making Edward "sparkley" (a.k.a I-just-ran-a-hundred-miles-and-didn't-bother-to-take-a-shower dripping with sweat look) then they could have given Jacob not fake looking, girly hair. Or is it discribed like that in the books? >:D
3. Edwards intense stares and creepy looks. Especially when he and Bella are in lab class. If I were Bella, I would be like "What is up?! You're staring at me is really creeping me out!" But no, she isn't like that :-P
4. No one can answer a simple question straight up. I need not explain this further. It's too annoying.
5. Bottom line: It was just plain silly a lot of the time.
~~~~~~

Ok, now that I've gotten that off my chest, here are some thing I liked about the movie:

1. There were actually some laughable moments! (Not laughable as in making fun of, mind you....but there were some of those two:)

2. The conversations being kinda awkward with weird silences made it somewhat more realistic...c'mon in real life not everyone knows just the right things to say etc.

3. Bella's human friends are so funny/nerdy! Jessica was one of my faves, she's the total opposite of Bella, lol.

4. Bella's Lulliby is such a lovely piece of music! I wish I could play it on my piano :-[

5. Annnd last but not least.

THE CULLENS' HOUSE.

Smackdab in the middle of the forest.

With wall-length windows looking out to the surrounding trees.

Gorgeous.

Oh, and all their sports cars!

"Well I guess if you've lived that long then you're either really rich, or really poor." -Mom

So in the end, after all the hype along with this movie, Twilight disappointed me....even though there were good points :-/

Yeah, I haven't posted yet :-/

Hiya!
Soooo....as the title already indicates, I haven't made any REAL posts yet.
Don't know when I actually will....
OH HEY! HOW 'BOUT NOW?
:-)
Ok, on Sunday night me and my mom were watching The Amazing Race.
You know like when the camera people take random shots of the scenery or locals, that they cut to at well....random parts of the show?
Welll usually they are pretty....um pretty (if it's scenery), or just stupid and a waste of 3 seconds.
But not this time!
It was during one of the challenges this week (where they had to get water and feed for the camels) and let me tell you IT IS THE. MOST. HILARIOUS. THING. EVER.
Check it out for yourself:

I think the Lord put it upon us to record it instead of just watching it like we usually do, because being able to rewind again, and again came in handy that's for sure! XD

Aaaaaaah! so funny :-}

It's been a very long time...

Well....I've done it. I've come back to the blogging world.

Except this time I will slowly type my oppinions, reviews (hmm, a review is pretty much the same as giving your oppinion on something...ha scratch that), and other random thingydoodles that spill out of my noggin', not on Wordpress, but on here.

The magical world of Blogspot.

It actually really sucks starting a blog all over again....although it will not revolve around a certain adorable multiplayer game involving penguins.

It's very sad but true, the once majestic (still majestic, but for other, littler people), "exciting" world of Club Penguin has lost my interest for a long time now.

And before that, it was a pain in the neck having to keep up with aaaallllll the other blogs focused on puffle-walking, ninja-penguins who like drinking coffee and munching on pizza (weird combo btw).

I still think it's a very cute site, Club Penguin....but cmon it's for chillin's (kids).

You have no idea how dorky/nerdy/geeky/etc. I feel about admitting I used to be obsessed about CP.

BUT I'M NOT ANYMORE OK!

lol ^_^

Anywaaay, I hope this blog will get as many hits and comments as my other one did.

But I doubt it will.

I know, I'm soooo optimistic.

Well, I'll be postin' later I suppose.

So long!

Farewell

Auf--nevermind :-}
